Slither on out for a scaly fun day. The Discover Deadly Team LOVE reptiles and this popular event gives The Passionate Team a chance to show YOU why. Come alone, bring a friend, or bring the entire family including the dog (yes we are dog-friendly).

Have you ever thought of owning a pet reptile? Then this is the place to be as you'll find everything you need on sale including housing, equipment and reptiles. There will be breeders, herpetology experts, suppliers, and services all on hand to answer your questions.

Get up close with the critters, enjoy watching live reptile shows and snapping some VERY cool photographs.

Join the Discover Deadly Team and their special guests for an evening of food, facts and fun. You will be greeted on arrival with a reptile-themed cocktail or mocktail plus canapes. During the evening you will be entertained with a series of presentations from our guest speakers and a Q & A panel MC'd by Discover Deadlys Becca and Jamin from Jay Exotic/Reptile Chat WA.

Tonic By The Bay will serve their Gourmet Dinner while you sit back - dine and delight, surrounded by some raucous reptile people. To top it all off you could be the winner of one of our kindly donated door prizes such as an Exo Terra Rainforest Habitat Kit (medium tall).

Steve Wilson

Steve Wilson is a Brisbane-based wildlife photographer and herpetologist. Steve has authored and co-authored twelve reptile books, which have received four Whitely Awards for excellence in natural history.

 His books include the definitive, ‘A Complete Guide to Reptiles of Australia’ now in its 6th edition, state and regional field guides, books on natural history and a children’s book.

 In 2000 Steve was named “Photographer of the Year” by Australian Geographic Magazine for his article on Australian geckos. In 2022 he was awarded the prestigious Order of Australia Medal for his work with herpetology and communication.

 His work with herpetology and photography have taken him to some of the world’s biodiversity hot-spots. He has also travelled extensively around Australia photographing reptiles for his comprehensive field guides.

 For 38 years he worked at the Queensland Museum, educating the public, identifying their specimens and raising awareness about Australia’s unique biological heritage and how to conserve it.

David Knowles

 Bio - David Knowles of Spineless Wonders is based in Perth Western Australia. He has been dedicated to the environment and its inhabitants from an early age.

David has had 40 years of biosurvey experience in Australia, Vietnam, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and New Guinea. Alongside biosurveys he is an author, a longtime citizen scientist, a wildlife photographer and a teacher who, with his now ex-wife Fleur, has encouraged the appreciation of invertebrates to tens of thousands of students (and adults in public venues) through school and other presentations over the past 25 years.

David’s film and digital photographic library contains the largest private collection of WA macroinvertebrate images ever assembled.
